    AVIF is a next-generation image format built on the AV1 video codec. It produces files smaller still than WebP at the same quality and supports transparency and HDR.

    Is converting AVIF to JPG free?

    Yes, completely free. No account, no daily limit, no watermark and no queue.

    What happens to a transparent background?

    JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. You can choose black or any other colour in the settings.

    Are animated images converted too?

    Only the first frame is converted to JPG. To keep the animation, convert to MP4 or WEBM.

    Does it work on a phone?

    Yes. It works on iPhone, iPad and Android, with no app to install.

    Is there a file size limit?

    There is no size limit set by us. Files of hundreds of MB convert too; very large files take longer and are handled more comfortably on a computer than on a phone.
