Why convert Excel to CSV?
To convert Excel (XLSX) files to CSV, drop them on the counter above. Not every program opens an Excel file, and it is heavier than simple data exchange needs. Nearly every program, database, bank and e-commerce system can import CSV.
Pick comma or semicolon to match the system you import into.
Most files convert in seconds: no queue, no email address, and the CSV result saves straight to your computer or phone.
How to convert Excel to CSV
-
Add your Excel files
Drag your Excel (XLSX) files onto the counter or pick them with Choose files. You can add several at once.
-
Check the settings
The defaults suit most cases. Change quality, size or other options if you like; after a change, one click converts again.
-
Conversion starts by itself
Each file is converted to CSV and its row is stamped CONVERTED.
-
Download your CSV file
Get the file with Download. With several files you can download them all as one ZIP.

About the formats
XLSX
Microsoft Excel (Office Open XML)
XLSX is the spreadsheet format Microsoft Excel has used since 2007. It can hold several sheets, formulas, formatting and charts.
CSV
Comma-Separated Values
CSV stores each table row as a line of text, with cells separated by commas or semicolons. Nearly every program and database can import and export it.
Frequently asked questions
Is converting Excel to CSV free?
Yes, completely free. No account, no daily limit, no watermark and no queue.
Why does the CSV open as one column in Excel?
Excel expects the separator of your regional settings, often a semicolon in Europe. Choose that separator before converting, and keep the BOM option on for accented characters.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It works on iPhone, iPad and Android, with no app to install.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no size limit set by us. Files of hundreds of MB convert too; very large files take longer and are handled more comfortably on a computer than on a phone.
