Separate the subject from its background
Putting a product photo on white for an online shop, changing the backdrop of a passport or profile photo, placing a picture with no background on a slide or poster: each starts with separating the subject from its background. The AI here finds the subject in front (a person, product, animal, car or object) on its own and removes the rest.
The model works in enough detail to separate fine edges like strands of hair and fur. You see the result over a transparent backdrop in the preview; press and hold Show original to compare with the photo as it was.
Keep the background transparent and download PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF or TIFF, or put white or any colour behind it and save as JPG. Add several photos and they are processed one after another and download as one ZIP.

Does it handle fine edges like hair?
Yes. The model works at a high enough resolution to separate strands of hair and fur. Hair the same colour as the background may be missing in places.
Can I make the background white?
Yes. Choose White under Background; for product and passport photos you can save as JPG. Colour lets you put any colour behind it.
Can I remove backgrounds from several photos at once?
Yes. Add them together; they are processed one after another and download in one ZIP file.
Why do I wait the first time?
The first time, the AI model (about 115 MB) downloads once and gets ready. Later photos and later visits start right away.
Can I open iPhone photos (HEIC)?
Yes. HEIC photos open directly, and you can save the result as JPG, PNG, WebP or any other image format.
